Wednesday to Friday builds the mood with films, a family craft, and the first costume parties.

Halloween week opens on Wednesday, October 28, with Arts Whistler's Scream screening and the first Halloween Freak Show at Buffalo Bills Bar & Grill. Thursday adds a free beaded-bones craft at the Whistler Public Library and a Rocky Horror Picture Show screening, and Friday adds the Whistler Wine Walk and the first of two nights of Dead Man's Disco and A Nightmare on Main Street.

Wednesday, October 28

Scream screens at the Maury Young Arts Centre, with doors at 6:15 PM and the film at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $10, or $19 with the Ghostface Killer Lemonade pre-ordered, and the evening is 19+ under BC liquor licensing laws. Latecomers are not admitted, so arrive on time. The same night, the Halloween Freak Show begins at Buffalo Bills Bar & Grill, the first of three nights of costumes and dancing there.

Thursday, October 29

Families can drop in to the free Halloween craft at the Whistler Public Library from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, where children make skeleton and skull beaded bag charms. No registration is required, and children in grade three and under should be accompanied by an adult.

That evening, The Rocky Horror Picture Show screens at the Maury Young Arts Centre, with doors at 6:15 PM and the film at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $18, or $27 with The Tim Warp cocktail pre-ordered. The evening is 19+, ALGN Dance performs along to the film, and costumes are highly encouraged.

The Whistler Wine Walk runs from 6:00 to 8:15 PM, linking three galleries around Whistler Village with a glass of BC wine at each stop and finishing at the Audain Art Museum with canapΓ©s and live music. Tickets are $29 and sold in advance. Later, Dead Man's Disco at Moe Joe's, A Nightmare on Main Street at Garfinkel's Night Club, and the second Freak Show at Buffalo Bills take over the late-night hours.

Halloween night starts at Tapley's Farm on Saturday, October 31, and ends on the dance floor.

On Saturday, October 31, Tapley's Farm hosts Whistler's free community Halloween for the 43rd consecutive year, with trick-or-treating from 5:30 to 8:00 PM and fireworks at 7:30 PM. The neighbourhood closes to vehicle traffic at 4:00 PM, so most families use the free Park and Spook shuttle from the Marketplace parking lot.

Trick-or-treating and fireworks

Residents decorate their homes for as many as 1,000 visitors, and the evening supports the Whistler Food Bank through the We Scare Hunger campaign, so bring cash or non-perishable food for the collection at the entrance. At 7:30 PM, the Whistler Fire Rescue Service presents fireworks on the lower field of Myrtle Philip Community School, with free hot chocolate.

Getting to Tapley's Farm

The Park and Spook shuttle runs between the Marketplace parking lot and Tapley's from 5:15 to 8:25 PM, and parking at Marketplace is free from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Layers keep an evening outdoors comfortable, and this guide to what to wear in Whistler covers the rest.

Late-night parties

Late night belongs to the dance floors: Grave Rave at Après Après, Dead Man's Disco at Moe Joe's, the second night of A Nightmare on Main Street at Garfinkel's Night Club, and the final Halloween Freak Show at Buffalo Bills Bar & Grill. Doors and ticket details can change, so confirm with each venue before you go.

Whistler Blackcomb stays closed until November 20, and the clocks will not change.

The mountains are closed for the season break, with opening day scheduled for November 20, 2026, weather permitting. Peak 2 Peak Gondola sightseeing reopens that day. British Columbia also stays on Pacific time (UTC-7) year-round from November 1, so clocks do not fall back and Saturday night does not gain an extra hour.

Village plans while the mountains rest

The Audain Art Museum's Solstice: Through Storm & Stillness exhibition runs through April 12, 2027, and its Sunday Scribbles family art sessions continue on Sundays, including November 1. Vallea Lumina, the forest night walk at The Adventure Group's Cougar Mountain base, runs nightly from sundown year-round, with showtimes arriving earlier as the days shorten.

Sunday, November 1, and what follows

Sunday is a slower village day, which suits the morning after a late night. Cornucopia follows from November 5 to 15, and the mountains open on November 20.

Sundial Hotel gives Halloween night a warm landing in the heart of Whistler Village.

The Sundial Hotel is at 4340 Sundial Crescent in the heart of Whistler Village, within walking distance of the Village Stroll. Every suite has a fully-equipped kitchen and a gas fireplace, and the private hot tub suites are available 24/7 with no reservation required.

Guests in any suite can also reserve the rooftop hot tub on the 8th floor by calling the front desk from 8:00 AM on the day, and hot chocolate is on hand in the lobby for younger guests in costume. Families with trick-or-treaters will find room in the two-bedroom suites, which sleep up to six. Reserve early to secure a private hot tub suite.
