Biker's Update

Spring has definitely kicked-off in Whistler, and it is finally time to get the bikes out!

Whistler’s world-famous Mountain Bike Park is opening on May 20th! Felling like riding, but maybe not paying for Bike Park tickets? There are plenty of single-track mountain bike trails available for free in the surrounding Valley, and there is something for everyone, from beginner to expert!

All this mountain biking seems too extreme? Whistler is also great for people who love to cruise around – with a huge network of paved trails that offer a smooth ride and makes you discover Whistler in a completely new way: tour around friendly neighbourhoods, have a picnic on one of the many beaches, enjoy a sunny day in one of our parks, you will find many activities to do along the way!

Yes, but you would like to travel with the whole family? Many bike rental shops offer to rent a kids’ trailer for your bike, so the kids can accompany you! The Valley Trail network also offers lots of resting areas, making this an enjoyable trip for everyone!

Coming for a week or more? Take your WORCA membership ($45.00 per adult, ), and access a series of races and events:

• Monday night Rides: starting in June, these rides separate from groups according to your level of riding, and takes you to trails to improve your skills – be prepare to pedal hard!
• Wednesday: starting in June, PHAST Wednesday DH series: a race for Downhill riders – try yourself against other amateurs in some of Whistler’s finest double-black runs!
• Thursday: Starting as early as May 5th, Toonies races, a friendly competition for all levels of riders, through some of Whistler’s best single-tracks mountain bike trails

Another option: The Peak to Peak® Alpine Experience gondola! Opening on May the 28th, this one-of-a-kind experience will take you to the top of Whistler Mountain, then all the way across the Fitzsimmons’ Creek, to Blackcomb Mountain, offering breathtaking views of the valley. There is also a network of beginner and intermediate hiking trails at the top of both mountains – you can really spend the whole day up there!

Take advantage of the low rates of spring season to come and enjoy beautiful Whistler!
