If you enjoy getting muddy and pushing out of your comfort zone, while challenging your physical strength, stamina and mental grit, then Tough Mudder Whistler is for you. In its 5th year, the Whistler Tough Mudder returns this year to the iconic Whistler Olympic Park. Set amid Whistler's mountainous landscape and stunning views, this year’s new 16-20 kilometre course will challenge participants with over 20 obstacles.
Although it can sound intimidating, Tough Mudder is not a race. There are no stop watches, winners or podium finishes. Tough Mudder is full of challenges designed to promote teamwork which encourage “Mudders” to band together and push out of their comfort zone. The team-orientated obstacles create an amazing sense of camaraderie and whether you arrive solo or part of a team you are sure to leave with more friends than when you arrived.
The Whistler Resort is located just 16km north of the Whistler Olympic Park, offering the perfect base for your Tough Mudder Whistler experience. The many athletic shops, restaurants, and hotels in Whistler provide all the amenities Mudders to need to prepare and ample opportunity for some well-deserved celebrating, rest and relaxation after the event. Make the most of your weekend and enjoy everything the Whistler summer resort has to offer. Meet up with fellow Mudders to toast your shared victory in one of Whistler’s many Bars or Restaurants. The Blacks Pub and Restaurant patio, located within the Sundial hotel, is an ideal place to relax and soak up the last rays of evening sunshine. Wander down the Village Stroll to access many of Whistler’s best restaurants. Visit Araxi to treat yourself to the locally inspired and sourced culinary creations of Executive Chief James Walt, a favourite restaurant amongst Whistler locals. Or for a more casual atmosphere curl up in The Attic above 21 Steeps and enjoy great modern comfort food while sipping on a cocktail from their well-stocked menu. For those who hobble away from the Tough Mudder course, the Scandinave Spa in Whistler offers a tranquil setting to soak those sore muscles while you rest and recover. Or splash out and treat yourself to one of our hot tub suites to enjoy the convenience of ultimate relaxation without leaving your hotel room.
Want to keep the adventure going? Whistler is packed with a multitude of action packed summer activities. Just steps away from our mountainside location, Whistler Mountain is transformed into a summer down-hill mountain bike park offering an exhilarating ride for both experienced and novice bikers. White-water rafting adventures are offered by several companies located in Whistler Village, another great team building exercise for all those Mudder teams. And if you are an ultimate adrenaline junkie you can get your fix at Whistler Bungee by jumping 160ft over the glacial fed Cheakamus River.
So grab your friends and join us for an unforgettable Tough Mudder weekend June 18-19, 2016.
